Sex Slaves Freed By Sheriff's Office Elite VICE Squad. Click here for details.

On January 8, 2015 the Vice unit was conducting an undercover investigation for prostitution which led them to the Days Inn Hotel located at 1599 Adamson Pkwy Morrow Ga. A suspected prostitute led them to a room inside the hotel where the Vice unit encountered numerous subjects, as well as a 1 year old child sleeping on the bed in the room where the sex acts were going to occur. Members of the elite Vice unit quickly ascertained that they had one juvenile and three adult suspects.

It was later found the three adults and a male juvenile were all running a prostitution ring moving around Clayton County utilizing numerous hotels. The suspects were also forcing the female juvenile to perform sex acts for money. While the sex acts were taking place the group would hide in the bathroom which is where the victim would take the money prior to performing the sex acts. The juvenile female was not allowed to keep any of the proceeds from her sex acts, was only fed occasionally, and was forced to stay with the group. The victim had no cell phone, no money, or identification. The victim was taken to a medical facility for examination to ensure her safety. The victim was turned over to her mother via DFACS once released from the hospital. The juvenile suspect was taken to RYDC an held on charges of Human Trafficking and two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. The three adults suspects identified by pictures below were taken to the para-military Clayton County Jail and are held on Human Trafficking, two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, Keeping a place of prostitution and Deprivation of a minor.

The Vice unit was formed under Sheriff Victor Hill's first term in office. Under that term the Vice unit saved 42 adult victims of human trafficking and utilized the RICO act and Human Trafficking charges to closed all 14 Massage parlors which were acting as brothels in the county. With this enforcement the massage parlors have not been able to return to the county. Ironically, these women who were being held as sexual slaves at the parlors were freed on the anniversary date of the Emancipation proclamation.

Since the reformation of the Vice unit under this term of Sheriff Victor Hill, the unit has saved 24 adult victims and 13 juvenile victims from human trafficking. Two of these juvenile victims were recently rescued last week in 2016.

The Vice unit has made close to 500 arrests related to prostitution since its rebirth in 2013, and as a result Clayton County has seen a very large decline in prostitution. The Vice unit continues to join forces with several non profit organizations as well as the GBI and FBI, in an attempt to save as many of these women and remove them from this atmosphere instead of just putting them in jail and forgetting about them. On every case the women are given the information for at least one of the non profit organizations which they can go to in order to seek help. In many cases if the person states they want the help and is willing to take the steps to leave this lifestyle, aninvestigator will contact the organization and ask for assistance for the women, which speeds up the process.

The Vice unit is also charged with enforcing violations of the RICO act, Counterfeit Merchandise, Illegal Gambling, Fraud and Money Laundering cases as well as Illegal Narcotics. In 2013 the Vice unit closed the SouthSide discount mall and removed all illegal counterfeit merchandise from this location. In doing this it returns revenue which was going to an illegal organization to profitable revenue to legitimate business owners of the county. This location is currently being overseen by the courts to ensure this type of illegal activity does not return.

If you know of anyone who is being held against their will for human sex trafficking, please call 770-477-4479 so that information can be given the the Sheriff's Office Vice Squad.

It is no doubt that the work of this elite unit contributes to why Clayton County now has the lowest crime in the five metro counties.
