Update regarding Missing Person at Risk: Shuqin Zhang, 22 year old, Asian Female, last seen in Berkeley on January 7 at 1:30 a.m.

Update regarding missing person Shuqin Zhang. 

Early this morning, Shuqin's vehicle was found at Point Reyes near the lighthouse area. The vehicle was unoccupied and search efforts are underway. The National Park Service, US Coast Guard and Marin County Search and Rescue are currently looking for Shuqin. Berkeley PD investigators are on scene and coordinating with those agencies. 

We are asking anyone who may have seen Shuqin or her vehicle coming into the area to contact the Berkeley Police Department at 510-981-5900


The Berkeley Police Department is seeking the community's help in locating a missing person at risk.   

Missing is SHUQIN ZHANG, a 22 year old, Asian female.  She has black hair, brown eyes, is 5’2” and weighs approximately 90 pounds.  Shuqin wears glasses and may have been wearing a greenish blue hooded sweatshirt.  She was last seen on January 7 at 1:30 a.m. in Berkeley.  Information has been received that she may have gone to Bodega Bay on January 7 at 3:40 a.m.  No contact has been made since. 

Shuqin is a UC Berkeley graduate student who has been depressed and out of character lately.  Recent events suggest she could be suicidal.  She was to fly to China this morning, but did not board her flight. 

She owns a  2003 Mercedes, C250, white in color with a California plate of 6SFE299.
