The City of Lockport is pleased to announce the opening of Gougar Road, between 143^rd to 151^st as soon as this Friday!  The City was able to work with Will County DOT to resolve the issues that caused the road to remain closed for nearly two years. 

The short-term solution (for the next several months or so) will be to move the barricades north of Gougar and 147^th Street to allow cars to cut through from 151st over to Lemont Rd via 147th Street. However, the long-term solution (implemented within the next 90 days) is to install a split phase signal at Gougar and 143^rd Street and then remove all of the barricades completely.

 The Mayor, City Council and staff would like to thank everyone for their patience while the road was closed.  We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience it imposed.
