*Update* #LASD - Homicide Detectives Investigating Shooting Death, 15600 S. Washington Av, East Rancho Dominguez
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives responded to the 15600 block of South Washington Avenue, unincorporated East Rancho Dominguez, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male adult on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at approximately 10:36 p.m.
When homicide detectives arrived, they learned that Compton Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to the location for a “Gunshot victim” call. Upon their arrival, they discovered the victim, a male black 28 years-old, lying on the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
According to witnesses, the victim saw a U-Haul truck back into his car. When he confronted the driver, the driver of the U-Haul drove off. The victim chased him a short distance before the driver of the U-Haul truck exited the truck and shot the victim.
After the shooting the suspect fled the area on foot, leaving the U-Haul truck behind.
The murder weapon and suspect are still outstanding at this time.
The investigation is still ongoing.
