TxDOT is pre-treating the state-maintained highways, bridges and overpasses prior to the anticipated winter weather. The pre-treatment is a brine solution that dries white. It may appear slick when it is wet, however, it does not cause any reduction in traction. This solution helps reduce the accumulation of ice and makes removal of snow and ice easier.
Crews will continue 24 hour shift work Thursday night through Saturday morning.
