Residential burglaries are occurring at an alarming rate in PVE and surrounding areas. Report suspicious activity to PVE PD.
Burglaries continue to occur in frequency within the PVE and regional area. This week’s crime report reflects 11 residential burglaries, and 1 attempted residential burglary in PVE alone. The peninsula/south bay region has seen similar increases throughout. This is unprecedented in our community and needs all of our attention.
PVE PD continues to deploy uniformed and plain clothed officers directly engaged in burglary suppression efforts. However, burglaries continue to occur with the most common being a rear yard entry and rear window smashed followed by a ransack.
With recent volume in residential burglaries we must be aware of our surroundings and work together to report incidents that seem out of place. CALL PVE PD TO REPORT SUSPICIOUS OR UNKNOWN PERSONS OR VEHICLES IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD.
For those who could not attend the community meeting hosted by the Police Chief on December 12th it was video recorded and is available on the city's website at www.pvestates.org). Look under City Government tab, City Meetings, and scroll down to bottom of page to Miscellaneous Archives section and select “Video” for PVEPD Crime Presentation.
It is recommended that you view this video to learn more about crime trends and crime prevention measures you can take to reduce your risk of becoming a burglary victim.
The Palos Verdes Estates Police Department would like to wish all of our residents, and those visiting, a safe and joyous holiday.
