Suspect Caught On Camera Stealing Christmas Gift From Porch in Carson - Arrested ***VIDEO***
On Monday, December 14, 2015, a package was stolen from the porch of a residence on the 400 Block of West 224th Street, Carson. The theft was captured on a home surveillance system where it shows the suspect walk by and observe the package. The suspect quickly turns around, takes the package from the porch and walks away.
The package was a Christmas gift, intended to be given at a Christmas party.
Carson Sheriff’s Station Detectives investigating the theft identified the suspect as 32-year-old Gabriel Martinez, a male-Hispanic from Carson.
On Tuesday, December 22, 2015, detectives from Carson Sheriff’s Station served a search warrant at the suspect’s residence. Suspect Martinez was detained and multiple stolen items were found in his possession.
The suspect was arrested for multiple theft related charges and was booked at Carson Sheriff’s Station. He is currently being held in lieu of $20,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Compton Superior Court on Thursday, December 24, 2015, for arraignment.
Suspect Martinez has an extensive criminal history that includes several felony convictions for theft. He is currently on probation.
The investigation is on-going.
