December 8th
Possession of Marijuana/Lost Property- San Pablo Ave @ Ohio Ave.
At 1115 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a bicyclist for a vehicle code violation. During the investigation, the officer contacted a 27 year old male from Richmond. The male was found to be in possession of marijuana and property belonging to someone else. The male was booked at the El Cerrito PD and released on a citation.
Warrant Arrest- 9999 San Pablo Ave.
At 1548 hours, an officer noticed a suspicious person in the area and contacted the 47 year old male from San Leandro. During a records check the officer discovered the man had a warrant for his arrest. The man was taken into custody and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Theft from Vehicle-8600 Block of Terrace Dr.
An officer reported an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole property. The theft occurred between 12/7@1700-12/8@0700 hours.
December 9th
Theft from Vehicle-7000 block of Cutting Blvd.
An officer reported an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole property. The theft occurred between 12/8@2200 to 12/9@ 0930 hours.
December 10th
Theft from Vehicle-2000 block of Harper St.
An officer reported an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole property. The theft occurred between 12/8@1900-12/10@0845 hours.
Shoplift- 11500 block of San Pablo Ave.
At 1326 hours, an officer reported a woman selected 3 bottles of lotion from the shelf and exited the store without paying for the merchandise.
December 11th
Residential burglary – 800 block of Bates Ave.
An unknown suspect cut the lock to a storage container and stole several thousand dollars worth of tools.
Residential burglary – 6700 block of Hagen Blvd.
An unknown suspect forced their way into a residence and stole power tools.
Auto Burglary – Trader Joe’s, 670 El Cerrito Plaza
Between 1915 and 2015 hours, the unknown suspect pried the driver’s door locking mechanism of a PG&E truck and stole a PG&E sweatshirt and rain suit.
December 12th
Shoplifting – CVS, 670 El Cerrito Plaza
An officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 68-year-old Richmond woman after she stole a cart full of alcohol from the store. The woman was located at the Plaza BART station waiting for a train. She was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Mental health evaluation – El Cerrito Honda, 11755 San Pablo Ave.
Officers were dispatched to the business after a 54-year-old Richmond man suffered a psychotic break and was rambling incoherently to himself and lying on the floor of the business. The man was committed for a 72-hour psychiatric hold and transported to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center by AMR.
Domestic Violence – 1400 block Everett Street:
At 1924 hours, officers responded to a welfare check and determined the victim and her husband were in an argument which turned physical on Friday night which resulted in the arrest of a 51 year old male El Cerrito resident.
DUI, Public Intoxication – Portola Drive / San Pablo Ave:
At 0035 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 23 year old male driver from El Cerrito for DUI. The heavily intoxicated passenger, a 26 year old man from El Cerrito, was arrested for public intoxication after he tried to exit the vehicle and insert himself into the investigation and then once the driver was arrested he refused to get out of the vehicle. Both were booked and released on a citation.
Resist or Delay an Officer – San Pablo Ave / Cutting Blvd:
At 0109 hours, an officer attempted to detain a 25 year old Richmond man. The man refused to stop and comply with the officer’s commands. Once detained, he refused to identify himself and was uncooperative. The man then began to physically resist. He was arrested, booked, and transported to county jail.
Vandalism – 900 block Sea View Drive:
At 0315 hours, an unknown suspect placed some sort of explosive device in a porta-potty which completely destroyed the outhouse.
December 13th
Auto burglary – 8600 block of Terrace Dr.
Between 12/12/15 at 2200 hours and 12/13/15 at 1400 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the driver’s side window and stole miscellaneous electronics.
Attempted residential burglary – 2300 block of Cedar St.
At 1620 hours, an unknown suspect jiggled the back door to the victim’s house. The suspect then shattered a window on the back door. The loud breaking of the glass scared the suspect away. The suspect is described as a black male adult, 25-30 years old, dark complexion, 5’8”, wearing a dark jacket and a cap.
Residential Burglary – 1700 block Wesley Ave:
An unknown suspect entered the victim’s residence sometime between 1315 and 1630 hours and conducted a mild ransack of the master bedroom. Nothing appeared stolen.
