TIME: 4:00 a.m. to 5:30 a.m.

LOCATION: 15900 Block of Foothill Boulevard, Irwindale

NARRATIVE: The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau along with Deputies from Temple Sheriff’s Station, and Officers from Irwindale Police Department, will be conducting a Vehicle Canvass Operation on Monday, December 21, 2015, in the City of Irwindale.

Location: 15900 Block of Foothill Boulevard, Irwindale.

Time: 4:00 a.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Deputies and Officers will be contacting drivers / passengers in an effort to obtain information from possible witnesses who may have seen anything related to the murder of 48 year-old Martin Diaz, who was killed on November 25, 2015, as he drove to work between the hours of 4:30 am-5:00 am, in the 15900 block of Foothill Blvd, Irwindale.

Martin Diaz was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He was also a dedicated employee of a sprinkler company in Azusa.

On Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at approximately 5:40 a.m., Irwindale Police Department officers responded to a “person down” call in the 15900 block of Foothill Boulevard in the city of Irwindale. When the officers arrived, they noticed a Hispanic man inside a compact vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. It appeared the victim was driving eastbound on Foothill Boulevard when he was shot.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to the location and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The name of the victim is not being released at this time, pending next of kin notification.

The investigation is on-going and there is no suspect information available at this time.
