South El Monte resident arrested for residential burglary, Impersonating a Peace Officer and Criminal Threats

A suspect forced entry into a home through an unoccupied bedroom window in the 2300 blk of Santa Anita Ave, South El Monte.  He encountered two female victims in an upstairs bedroom and said he was an FBI agent investigating a bomb threat, but refused to provide identification.  The suspect ordered an adult female to remove her clothing and threatened to kill her family if she refused.  The female called downstairs for her husband who went upstairs to investigate.  The suspect left the location after the victim requested another household member to call police.  The incident was captured on home surveillance video.

Temple Station Detectives reviewed video footage of the incident and immediately launched an investigation.  Special Assignment Team Deputies contracted by the City of South El Monte obtained information which led to the possible identification of a suspect.  Detectives positively identified Robert Rodriguez of South El Monte as the suspect.  On December 15, 2015, deputies arrested Rodriguez without incident as he exited his residence.  He is currently being held at Temple Station Jail with no bail.  His next court date is December 17, 2015 at El Monte Superior Court.
