Arrest -Felon in Poss. of a Firearm, Concealed firearm in a vehicle, Felon in Poss. of ammunition, & Poss. of Marijuana under 28.5 ounces. 
On Friday, December 11, 2015 at 7:43 PM, CPD officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle in the 900 block of Whitley Avenue. The driver, who was identified as Fernando Estrada Jr., was contacted and officers smelled marijuana coming from inside his vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted and officers located a loaded concealed firearm. The firearm was a .25 caliber handgun, which was not registered to Estrada. Officers seized the firearm as well as approximately 0.5 grams of Marijuana that was also found inside the vehicle. Estrada was arrested for possession of a concealed firearm inside a vehicle and possession of less than 1 oz. of Marijuana.
A records check of Estrada showed he was convicted of a felony offense in 2011. Estrada was also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and unlawful possession of ammunition by a felon. Estrada was later transported and booked at the Kings County Jail with a bail amount of $60,000.00.
