Serious Injury Accident in the 1400 Block of Third Avenue in Chula Vista 
On December 13, 2015, at approximately 01:45 AM, officers from the Chula Vista Police Department responded to the 1400 Block of Third Avenue regarding a red Corvette that just struck an electrical box and unoccupied parked car. The result of the collision caused the driver to be ejected from his vehicle.
When officers arrived on scene the driver was unconscious and appeared to have head trauma. Evidence at the scene determined the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the collision.
Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the collision and the driver has been taken to UCSD Hospital with serious injuries.
The 1400 Block of Third Avenue will remain closed while the CVPD Traffic Division investigates the incident.
