Link to California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Keeping Safe in Mountain Lion Country
December 11, 2015
California Department of Fish and Wildlife has received two reports of mountain lion incidents in Angels Camp over the last month. The incidents involved three goats and a deer, no humans were harmed.
More than half of California is mountain lion habitat. Mountain lions generally exist wherever deer are found. They are solitary and elusive, and their nature is to avoid humans.
