On 12/05/2015, at 1613 hours, the El Cerrito Police Department received numerous calls in regards to gunshots being fired near the intersection of San Pablo Avenue and Tehama Avenue. Officers arrived on scene and learned from witnesses that gunfire erupted after a verbal argument between the occupants of two vehicles. Officers searched the area for the suspect or any victim vehicles, but all had fled the scene prior to their arrival. Numerous bullet casings were located in the southbound lanes of San Pablo Avenue near the intersection of Tehama Avenue. Fortunately no uninvolved persons, buildings or vehicles were struck by the gunfire.
Video surveillance footage from a nearby business captured two vehicles traveling southbound on San Pablo Avenue near Tehama Avenue. As the two vehicles passed the business with the video surveillance camera, a verbal exchange can be heard between the drivers. Within seconds, the two vehicles drove off side-by-side and numerous gunshots can be heard. Witnesses describe the involved vehicles as being a silver sedan and white sedan, each appear to be American made.
