Attempted Abduction:
Investigators from the Norton Shores Police Department interviewed a 15 yr old female student from the Mona Shores School district regarding a possible attempted abduction. The incident occurred at the corner of Grand Haven road and Mt Garfield in the City of Norton Shores yesterday 12/08/2015 at 11:00 a.m.
The student reported that a male subject tried to lure her into his vehicle at the bus stop. The incident was reported after the school day and the student was out of town at the time of the call. School hours had been adjusted due to it being exam week, so busses picked up students at a later hour yesterday. The female student was back in town this morning to allow for further investigation.
The student advised that she was waiting at the bus stop when a black male, 40’s, mostly bald, scruffy beard, large build, dark t shirt, and deep voice pulled up to her in a white minivan with rust over the passenger side rear wheel. The subject asked for her to come over to the vehicle and she refused. He then told her if she did not get in the vehicle they would have a problem. The school bus then started to pull up and the van left the scene northbound on Grand Haven Rd.
