November 30th

Residential Burglary - 8600 Block of Edgehill Dr.
At 1333 hours, officers responded to an audible alarm at a residence. Upon arrival officer noticed the front door had been kicked in. Officers along with a police dog searched the interior of the residence and did not locate any suspects. The suspects conducted a light ransack of the house.

Possession of a Controlled Substance - 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At 1417 hours, an officer recognized a subject, a 32 year old male, who was not allowed to be at the business. A search of the subject revealed he was in possession of a controlled substance.

Residential Burglary - 2500 Block of Mira Vista Dr.
An officer responded to the report of a residential burglary that occurred sometime during the day. The suspect kicked in the front door of the residence.

Grand Theft - 4010 El Cerrito Plaza.
At 1902 hours, an officer responded to the report of a suspect stealing electronic items from the AT&T Store. The suspect was described as a black male, early 20’s, light complexion, red shoes and an Afro style hair cut.

Vandalism – Probation Violation: Blue Moon Saloon - 9937 San Pablo Avenue.
At 2220 hours, Officer Ware responded to the report of a woman wearing a Raiders jacket breaking the window of the Blue Moon Saloon. The officer located the suspect, a 61 year old El Cerrito woman. She caused a disturbance in the bar and battered a customer who did not wish to press charges. When she was being kicked out of the bar, she hit the window with her cane. The woman was on Court Probation with a no alcohol clause. She was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

December 1st

Auto Theft - 5200 School Street.
An officer reported that in between 0100 hours and 0330 hours, an unknown suspect stole a gray 2000 Chevrolet Suburban.

Attempted Vehicle Theft - 1000 block of Contra Costa Dr.
At 1130 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect pried the lock to the victim’s vehicle and attempted to hot wire the vehicle. The suspect was unable to start the vehicle but the suspect did remove the radio from the vehicle.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery - Cedar St/Alta Punta St.
At 1141 hours, a community service officer located a reported stolen vehicle. The vehicle was reported stolen to Oakland Police on November 14.

December 2nd

Auto Burglary – 9800 block of San Pablo Ave.
At 0700 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect smashed the driver side window of the victim’s vehicle and removed a Mac Book Pro along with other items.

Warrant Arrest, Probation Violation and Possession of drug paraphernalia – 800 block of Elm St.
AT 0915 hours, an officer coordinated a probation search at a residence. During the search a device commonly used to smoke narcotics was located and a 38 year old male was taken into custody. Also, while searching the residence a 45 year old female with a warrant was located and arrested. The male and female were booked and transported to the county jail.

Possession of a Controlled Substance - 5920 Cutting Blvd.
At 1226 hours, an officer was dispatched to a disturbance at the Jack in Box. Upon arriving officers contacted a 54 year old male. During the contact the male become irate and then attempted to discard an illegal substance. The male was taken into custody and released on a citation.

Non Injury Collision - Fairmount Avenue / Behrens St.
At 1904 hours, an officer responded to the report of a four car non-injury accident. An eastbound Buick collided with three parked cars.

Domestic Violence - Super 8 Motel / 6009 Potrero Avenue.
At 1959 hours, officers responded to the report of a domestic dispute at the Super 8 Motel. The victim was struck in the head with a wine bottle by his girlfriend, a 42 year old Fresno woman, during an alcohol fueled dispute. The victim’s head was split open and he was transported for medical treatment. The woman was arrested, booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

December 3rd

Stolen Vehicle – 900 block of Liberty Street.
At 0730 hours, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s vehicle which had been left running and unattended from in front of their residence.

Auto Burglary – 9900 block of San Pablo Avenue.
At 1332 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect shattered the front passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle and removed a black shoulder bag.

December 4th

Warrant arrest – 5200 block of Gordon Ave.
An officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 27-year-old El Cerrito man for an outstanding warrant. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant (X2) – Cutting Blvd / Potrero Ave.
At 1933 hours, an officer arrested a 38 year old local man on two Contra Costa County warrants. He was booked and cited.

DUI & DUI Probation – San Pablo Ave / Eastshore Blvd.
At 2318 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 61 year old male driver from Richmond for DUI. The man was also on DUI probation. He was released on a citation.

Marijuana possession – CVS / 670 El Cerrito Plaza.
At 2349 hours, an officer responded to CVS regarding two suspicious persons/possible theft suspects and arrested two male juveniles, one from Oakland and the other from Berkeley, for possession of over an ounce of marijuana plus concentrated cannabis. Both were released to their parents.

DUI – Galvin Dr / Moeser Lane.
At 0137 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 26 year old male driver from El Cerrito for DUI. He was booked and released on a citation.

December 5th

Mental health evaluation – 7400 block of Rockway Ave.
At 0924 hours, officers were dispatched to the area after a 53-year-old El Cerrito man became extremely intoxicated and belligerent. The man also suffers from severe depression and failed to take his medication as prescribed. The man ran out into the street and was yelling incoherent statements. Officers attempted to calm him down and prevent him from injuring himself in traffic. The man charged at one of the officers and had to be subdued with a taser. The man was detained and transported to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center for a psychiatric evaluation.

Shooting at an occupied vehicle – San Pablo Ave. / Tehama Ave.
Officers were dispatched to the parking lot of Marshall’s after several callers called to report two vehicles engaged in a shootout on San Pablo Ave. Witnesses report seeing two vehicles traveling southbound on San Pablo Ave. from Tehama Ave. and heard approximately 12 shots. 13 shell casings were located at the scene. To date, no victims have come forward. If you have any information regarding the incident, you are urged to call the El Cerrito Police Department.

Warrant – Brewster Dr / Arlington Blvd:
At 2214 hours, an officer investigated a suspicious vehicle and arrested an 18 year old female from Orangevale on a Sacramento County warrant for robbery. She was transported to MDF.

Warrant & DUI – Potrero Ave / S. 52nd St:
At 2209 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 42 year old male driver from Richmond for DUI and on a Contra Costa County DUI warrant. He was cited.

Warrant – I-80 / Cutting Blvd:
At 0035 hours, an officer contacted a 31 year old local man and arrested him on a no bail JAWS warrant for burglary. He was booked and taken to MDF.

DUI involved Collision – 3038 Yolo Ave (Beat 10):
At 0241 hours, an officer responded to a collision and suspected DUI driver and arrested a 27 year old Daly City man for DUI. He was booked and cited.

December 6th
Warrant arrest – 5020 El Cerrito Plaza
Officers were dispatched to the area for an aggressive panhandler. Upon arrival, they located a 31-year-old transient man and found that he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Residential Burglary – 3400 block Santa Clara Ave:
The suspect entered the victim’s residence via an open bathroom window and stole a computer. A possible suspect was described as a black male, approximately 25 years old, 6-02, and 150 pounds. He had long dread style hair braided into two rows and wore a black and red jersey and black pants. He left in grey 2015 Honda Crosstour, 4-door.

Felony Battery – 5200 block Victor Ave:
At 2337 hours, an officer responded to Richmond Kaiser for an assault with a deadly weapon and learned the victim arrived home where he was attacked by his brother, a 32 year old El Cerrito resident. The suspect struck the victim several times in the face with his fists causing a serious injury and great bodily injury. The suspect was located at his residence and arrested. He was transported to MDF.
