SUBJECT OF RELEASE: Car vs Tree Fatal Crash
DATE AND TIME: Saturday, December 05, 2015 at 2230 hrs (10:30 PM)
LOCATION: W County Farm Rd near S Holland Rd, Sidney Twp,
Montcalm County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a single vehicle car vs tree accident on W County Farm Rd near the intersection of South Holland Road in Sidney Township, located just west of Sheridan.
Upon arrival, deputies found a 2002 Ford F150 pickup truck that had collided with a tree on the north side of the roadway. The vehicle was being driven by Michael Hansen, a 24 year old male from the Stanton area. The driver was found to be deceased upon arrival. The driver was the only occupant at the time of crash.
The driver was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident and the vehicle’s airbags had deployed. The accident remains under investigation. Alcohol is suspected and may have been a factor in the crash.
The Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Montcalm County Emergency Service and the Sheridan Fire Dept.
