Serious Injury Accident at Third Avenue & Quintard Street in Chula Vista 
On December 5, 2015, at approximately 10:21 PM, officers from the Chula Vista Police Department responded to the intersection of Third Avenue and Quintard Street regarding a black Jeep Wrangler that just struck a tree causing the driver to be ejected from the vehicle.
When officers arrived on scene the driver was unconscious and appeared to have head trauma. Witnesses told officers the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed and made an abrupt turn into the tree prior to the collision.
Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the collision and the driver has been taken to UCSD Hospital with serious injuries.
The intersection of Third Avenue and Quintard Street will remain closed while the CVPD Traffic Division investigates the incident.
