SUBJECT: Donations to the K-9 Replacement Fund

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
On 12-02-15 the Angels Camp Police Department K-9 Association received a very generous donation to the replacement K-9 fund. Ric and Joanne Ryan decided to donate $1,000.00 to the fund. You may recall that Ric is also known as "The Walking Man," and that he raises and donates money to assist Veterans that are in need of reconstructive surgery, through UCLA's "Operation Mend." Ric raises this money primarily by walking all over the county, and donating a quarter for every person that waves at him while he is out and about.
While depositing this donation at the bank, we were informed that other generous donors have deposited funds into the account, and the balance for the account is currently at $2,500.00. The members of the Angels Camp PD K-9 Association understand that the timing of this request was less than ideal, with the recent Butte Fire disaster and the Christmas holiday almost upon us, there are many that are in need. We want to thank the Ryans, and the other generous members of our community for their gifts. It is humbling to know that there are so many giving people in our community, and we are fortunate to work for those that appreciate us. We are well on our way toward our goal of obtaining a replacement police service dog, to assist us with keeping our community safe, and we thank you!
