November 24th
Disobey an Officer & Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance-11700 block of San Pablo Ave
At 0726 hours, an officer was patrolling in the area when he noticed a suspicious person walking in and out of traffic. The officer attempted to contact the female, but she disobeyed his orders and ran away from him. After a short foot pursuit, the 28 year old female from Berkeley was taken into custody. During the investigation, the officer determined the female was under the influence. After booking, the female was released on a citation.
Shoplifter – Lucky’s - 1000 EC Plaza:
At 2204 hours, an officer was contacted by employees regarding a theft that had just occurred. The officer detained a 25 year old man and a 35 year old man from Oakland. Both had sausages and malted beverages concealed on their persons. One also had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest.
Controlled Substance Possession – Potrero Ave@S53rd Ave.
At 2333 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop. The officer found the twenty four year old driver was in possession of a small quantity of base cocaine. The driver was booked and released on a citation.
Welfare Check-2000 Block Harper Ave.
At 0129 hours, an officer was dispatched to the report of a welfare check. A twenty five year old male made suicidal threats to friends and family and was committed per 5150 W&I Code.
Warrant Arrest- Stockton Ave / BART Path
At 0250 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a fifty year old resident of Richmond on a misdemeanor controlled substance warrant. He was booked and released on a citation.
November 25th
Attempt Burglary-3400 block of Santa Clara Ave.
At 1019 hours, an officer reported an unknown suspect broke the victim’s bedroom window and attempted to enter the residence. The suspect fled when he saw the victim inside. No property loss was reported.
Burglary-3100 Block of Yosemite Ave.
An officer reported an unknown suspect smashed out a bedroom window to the victim’s residence and stole property. The theft occurred in between 0815 hours and 1600 hours.
Possession of a Controlled Substance & Burglary Tool- San Pablo Ave@ Moeser Ln.
At 1638 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and contacted a male subject. During the investigation, the male was found to be in possession of base cocaine and a burglary tool. The male was booked and issued a citation.
Stolen Vehicle Recovery - 5920 Cutting Blvd
At 1853 hours, an officer responded to the report of a subject who located his own stolen Lexus. The vehicle was released to the registered owner at the scene.
Wallet Theft - 11450 San Pablo Avenue
At 1942 hours, an officer responded to the report of a subject stealing a shopper’s wallet. The victim’s credit cards were subsequently used in Albany.
Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Avenue / Moeser Lane
An officer contacted a 45 year old Richmond resident during a pedestrian stop. He was found to have a felony warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and booked into the Contra Costa County Jail.
November 26th
Theft from Person - 10600 San Pablo Avenue:
At 1848 hours, an officer responded to the report of a woman who had her cellular telephone stolen. A woman was pushing an unoccupied baby stroller and walking her dog, when she was contacted by a thin black male in his twenties, approximately 5’06” wearing a dark hooded jacket. He stooped to pet her dog and put his hand on her stroller after gently moving her hand from the handle. He then walked off. The victim later realized he had stolen her cell phone.
November 27th
Warrant Arrest - 11565 San Pablo Ave.
At approximately 0907 hours, an El Cerrito police officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 49 year old male from Berkeley for an outstanding Sonoma County warrant and a 41 year old female from Oakland for an outstanding Alameda County warrant and a parole violation warrant from the California Department of Corrections. Both subjects were booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Petty Theft (Wallet) - 11450 San Pablo Ave.
An unknown suspect stole the victim’s wallet from her push cart while she was shopping. The suspect was described as being a BMA, 30’s 5’3”, 130lbs, wearing a black shirt and jeans.
Petty Theft (Purse) - 300 El Cerrito Plaza
An unknown suspect stole the victim’s purse from her push cart while she was shopping.
Vandalism – 1751 Eastshore Blvd:
At 1941 hours, an officer located a recently broken window in the front doors leading into the vacant business. The building was cleared and no one was located inside.
Collision involving a DUI – 1300 block Navellier St
At 2026 hours, officers responded to a hit and run collision. A 45 year old male from El Cerrito and his disabled vehicle were located north of the scene. He told officers he was driving northbound and responding to a text message. Distracted, he failed to stop and the stop sign at Manila Ave and collided with two parked vehicles. He was arrested for DUI, booked, and released on a citation.
November 28th
Shoplift – Lucky, 1000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1944 hours, officers responded to a theft at Lucky. The suspect, a 28 year old man from Castro Valley, was located at Plaza BART and placed under citizen arrest after being positively identified during an infield show-up. He was booked and cited.
Battery – BART Path / Stockton Ave:
At 1953 hours, an officer was flagged down by the victim who reported he was running northbound the BART path when he was surrounded by 4 males, two in red hoodies and two in black hoodies (NFD). The suspects tackled and kicked the victim. The victim was able to fight back and flee on foot. Two suspects fled eastbound and two westbound on Stockton. No loss.
DUI – San Pablo Ave / Stockton Ave:
At 0330 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 21 year old male driver from San Leandro. He was booked and released on a citation.
November 29th
Failure to Yield/ Stolen Vehicle – S. 52nd at Gordon Ave.
At approximately 1051 hours, an officer located an occupied stolen gold Honda Accord parked near S. 52nd/Gordon Ave. The Honda traveled northbound on S.52. and westbound onto State Ave. The officer attempted to stop the Honda after it ran a stop sign on S.49th at Fall Ave, but the Honda failed to yield and traveled eastbound onto Cutting Blvd. The Honda traveled eastbound up the I-80 West Cutting Blvd off ramp, where the officer concerned for public safety terminated the pursuit. The California Highway Patrol was notified of the last direction of flight of the Honda.
The driver of the Honda was a Hispanic male adult, 40’s, medium length black hair combed back, mustache, wearing an old black leather coat.
Brandishing a Knife and Warrant Arrest – Starbucks 3090 El Cerrito Plaza
BART PD was flagged by the victim at the Plaza BART station regarding an argument involving a knife. The victim stated that he during a verbal argument with a 51 year old male from Richmond, the male brandished a knife at him. Officers located the male inside Starbucks, detained him and recovered the knife. Officers later learned that the male had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. The male was placed under arrested, booked for his charges at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Cutting Blvd / Peerless:
At 2204 hours, officers responded to a man bleeding from the head and determined he had been struck in the head with a bottle by a 53 year old female from Richmond. The suspect was located and arrested. She was intoxicated and in possession of a two crack pipes. She was eventually transported to Martinez Detention Facility after booking. The victim was transported to the hospital by AMR.
