Advisory

Green Bay Police investigate a suspicious package.

On November 28, 2015 at about 8:50am, the Green Bay Police Department was notified by personnel from the Green Bay Fire Department about a suspicious package. The Fire Department personnel were notified by a civilian passerby who noticed a cardboard box that looked out of place. Upon further investigation, the box was positioned near a concrete support for the Tillman Bridge as it crossed over Adams St. Officers immediately closed down the surrounding streets of Adams St, Washington St, the on ramp to WB E Mason St from Jefferson St, and westbound E Mason St to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic while a member of the Brown County Bomb Squad could investigate further.

As a result of that investigation, it was learned that the box contained no dangerous material and the area was rendered safe. The area streets were opened to traffic after about a one hour closure.

The Green Bay Police Department continues to remain vigilant to any threats to the safety of our community. We encourage everybody to assist in that goal and always remember if you SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING.
