Dearborn County-Yesterday, at approximately 9:00 PM, Trp. James Herbert conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on State Route 1 near North Dearborn Road in which the driver was arrested on drug charges.
The investigation began when Trp. Herbert stopped a vehicle, driven by Kreechelle Thompson, 25, Indianapolis, IN for speeding on State Route 1 near Dover. During the course of the traffic stop, Trp. Herbert observed criminal indicators and detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Trp. Herbert searched the vehicle and located numerous jars containing marijuana and marijuana residue along with numerous other items associated with the use and distribution of marijuana.
Thompson was arrested and charged with dealing marijuana, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Thompson was incarcerated at the Dearborn County Jail. After the book in process is completed, Thompson will be given a bond and an initial court date to appear in Dearborn County.
