November 13th

Auto burglary – Peet’s Coffee, 9895 San Pablo Ave.
Between 0700 and 0710 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the victim’s vehicle window and stole a purse. The purse was later located at the Peet’s Coffee in Berkeley following another auto burglary there.

Mental health evaluation – 11511 San Pablo Ave.
Officers were dispatched the address after a 55-year-old transient man suffered a psychotic break and threatened harm to customers. The man was committed for a 72-hour psychiatric evaluation and transported to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center.

Mental health evaluation – 7400 block of Seaview Pl.
Officers were dispatched to the address after a 48-year-old El Cerrito woman suffered a psychotic break and attempted suicide. The woman was committed for a 72-hour psychiatric evaluation and transported to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center.

Petty theft – Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave.
Sometime between 1200 and 1252 hours, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s wallet while the victim was shopping in the store.

Theft – Verizon, 410 El Cerrito Plaza.
At 1736 hours, A suspect entered the store and used an unknown tool to cut the security wire of two display phones before exiting the store. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 20-25 years old, 5’9” to 5’10”, slim build, approximately 140 lbs, wearing a black hoodie, white tee shirt and blue jeans

Theft, Stolen Vehicle – Ross, 2000 El Cerrito Plaza.
At 1956 hours, three suspects entered the store together. Two engaged the security guard in conversation while the third selected approximately $90 in merchandise and exited the store without paying and entered a vehicle in the parking lot. The vehicle, a white 1990 Lexus LS400 was reported stolen to the San Rafael PD on 11-13-15.

Strong-arm Robbery – Kearney St/ Central Ave.
At 2027 hours, the victim was approached from behind, punched in the mouth and pushed to the ground. While on the ground the suspect took a black leather bag containing two bottles of alcohol. The suspect was described as a white male, 30-40 years, wearing a black shirt/grey pants and riding a bicycle.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Lucky, 1000 El Cerrito Plaza (Beat 10).
At 2357 hours, an officer recovered a white 1993 Honda Civic which was reported stolen to ECPD on 11-11-15.

November 14th

Mental health evaluation – Mira Vista Country Club, 7901 Cutting Blvd.
Officers were dispatched to the country club after a 36-year-old El Cerrito man drove his car onto the golf cart path into the golf course. The man drove halfway around the course and parked his vehicle. Once there, the man began drinking and threatening harm to the club’s groundskeepers. The man was not taking his medication, threatening officers, and rambling incoherently. The man was committed for a 72-hour psychiatric evaluation and transported to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center.

Possession of a controlled substance – Key Blvd. / Humboldt Ave.
An officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 36-year-old Richmond man for possession of methamphetamine. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released.

Public intoxication, Resisting arrest – 6500 block of Waldo Ave.
Officers were dispatched to the area for a fight between two men. An officer arrived and found a 53-year-old El Cerrito man preparing to punch his neighbor. The officer gave the suspect commands to cease his behavior and sit on the curb. The man was extremely intoxicated and ignored the officer’s commands. The man attempted to flee from officers but was arrested. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplift, Probation Violation – Marshall’s, 10759 San Pablo Avenue:
At 1922 hours, an officer accepted the citizen arrest of a 56 year old female resident of Brentwood after she entered Marshall’s selected merchandise and conducted a fraudulent return. She has been conducting fraudulent returns and pushing carts full of merchandise out of the store throughout the Bay Area. She was on PRCS (Post Release Community Supervision) and Contra Costa County Probation for shoplifting. She was transported to MDF.

Auto Burglary – Kearney St / Wall Ave:
Sometime between 11/13/15 at 1700 hours and 11/14/15 at 2100 hours, an unknown suspect broke the right passenger door window of the victim’s red 2006 Toyota Sonata and stole a GPS unit.

Resist or Delaying Officer, Suspended License – San Pablo Ave / Central Ave:
At 0324 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop. The 34 year old male driver from Hercules claimed he was looking for his girlfriend who jumped out of the vehicle. About this time the girlfriend ran across San Pablo Ave towards the stop. The driver was immediately confrontational and refused to comply with officers’ orders as they tried to investigate what transpired. The driver puffed out his chest as though he wanted to fight and then started to walk away from the scene. Officers grabbed his arm to prevent him from leaving and he physically resisted. He was taken to the ground and handcuffed. He was booked and cited.

November 15th

Mental health evaluation – El Cerrito Plaza
Officers were dispatched to the area after a 15-year-old El Cerrito girl suffered a psychotic break and attacked her father. The girl was committed for a 72-hour psychiatric evaluation and transported to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered, Stolen Property, Suspended License, Warrant – Eastbound I-80:
At 0154 hours, an officer received a strong Lojack hit while on San Pablo Avenue at Conlon Avenue. He located the black 2004 Cadillac on E/B I-80 and followed it to Lancaster Drive and S. Hampton Ct in Richmond where he initiated a traffic stop once a San Pablo unit caught up with him. The driver, a 27 year old female from San Francisco, yielded immediately and was arrested without incident. The vehicle was reported stolen to Stockton PD less than two hours earlier. The suspect climbed from the passenger to driver seat and took the vehicle from an ex-girlfriend when the ex-girlfriend got out of the vehicle to make a purchase at a gas station. The suspect was also in possession of the victim’s credit cards and cell phone. A records check revealed her driver license was suspended and she was also wanted on a no bail Sacramento County warrant for DUI. She was transported to MDF.

Warrant – San Pablo Ave / Potrero Ave:
At 0500 hours, an officer responded to a welfare check and located a 30 year old Oakland woman who was wanted on a no bail Sacramento County Warrant. She went to MDF.

November 16th

Attempt Vehicle Theft-600 Block of Liberty St.
An officer reported that an unknown suspect attempted to steal the victim’s 1998 Honda Odyssey van. The theft occurred in between 0000-0730 hours.

Possession of a Controlled Substance- 11900 Block of San Pablo Ave.
At 0945 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 27 year old male from Richmond for being in possession of suspected methamphetamine. After booking the male was released on a citation.

Theft from Vehicle- 3100 Carlson Blvd.
An officer reported an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole a stroller and valet key to the vehicle. The theft occurred in between 11/15@2200 and 11/16@0800 hours.

Theft from Vehicle- 2300 Block of Carquinez Ave.
A Community Service Officer reported an unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and removed an I-Pod and cellular phone charger. The theft occurred in between 11/14@2330 hours and 11/15@0900 hours.

Auto Burglary- 3070 El Cerrito Plaza
An officer reported that an unknown suspect smashed the front window of the victim’s vehicle and stole a backpack. The theft occurred at 0819 hours.

Residential Burglary – 3000 block of San Mateo Street:
At 1821 hours, an officer reports a suspect entered the victim’s residence via an kitchen window and removed a property.

November 17th

Residential Burglary- 7900 Block of Potrero Ave.
At 1040 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect kicked in the back door of the victim’s residence to gain entry and stole jewelry.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle- 2600 Block of Tassajara Ave.
At 0756 hours an officer was dispatched to a suspicious vehicle detail. During the investigation, the officer determined the vehicle was an unreported stolen vehicle from Oakland.

Drunk in Public – 11450 San Pablo Avenue.
At 1927 hours, officers responded to Safeway for a call of a intoxicated male who was causing a disturbance. Officers arrived on scene and contacted a 31 year old male who was extremely intoxicated. The male was not able to care for himself and taken into custody.

DUI – Solano Avenue/I-80:
At 0056 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 26 year old female, for DUI. The female was booked then cited out to a friend.

DUI – San Pablo Avenue/Portola Drive:
At 0115 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 32 year old female, for DUI. The female was booked then cited out to a friend.

Battery 11645 San Pablo Avenue (Freeway Motel):
At 0137 hours, officer responded to a report of a fight between two males. Officers arrived on scene and contacted the victim who was assaulted by another male. The suspect bite the victim several times and then fled the area in a gold, older model van.

November 18th

Residential Burglary – 2000 block of Junction Avenue:
At 1903 hours, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the victim’s residence via an unlocked back door and entered the residence. The suspect(s) did not remove any property.

Possession of a controlled substance, possession of a altered BB gun, Probation Violation, Possession of another’s access cards, – Moeser Lane/BART Path:
At 2315 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and subsequently arrested a 35 year old female and a 38 year old male. The male was in possession of a replica toy gun which was altered, a controlled substance and was on probation. The female was found to be in possession of several access cards and a pipe commonly used to smoke narcotics.

Driving with a suspended license and warrant arrest – San Pablo Avenue/Cutting Boulevard:
At 0145 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested the driver, a 41 year old male, for an outstanding warrant. The male was also driving with a suspended driver license and was on DUI probation.

November 19th

Warrant Arrest- 11450 San Pablo Ave.
At 1304 hours, officers were dispatched to Safeway for a suspicious person making threats and rolling around in the planter boxes. Upon arrival, A 36 year old male transient was located in the parking lot. An officer conducted a records check and discovered the male had an active vandalism warrant out of San Francisco. After booking, the male was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Residential Burglary-1500 Block of Douglas Dr.
At 1045 hours, an officer reported suspect #1 distracted the victim outside of the residence while suspect #2 entered the residence and stole property.

Possession of a Controlled Substance – I-80/Central Avenue:
At 1935 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested the driver, a 41 year old male, for being in possession of a controlled substance.

Possession of a controlled substance and Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Avenue/Macdonald Avenue:
At 2319 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and subsequently arrested, a 43 year old male, for an outstanding arrest warrant and for being in possession of a controlled substance and pipe commonly used to smoke narcotics.

November 20th

Warrant Arrest – Hill St./BART path –
At approximately 1047 hours, an El Cerrito police officer contacted a 56 year old male from Richmond and found that he had a $5,000.00 theft warrant. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Residential Burglary – 500 block of Oak St.
On Thursday November 19th between 1000-1700 hours, an unknown suspect ripped open the window screen and used a pry tool to open the living room window to enter the house. The suspect stole a laptop and IPad.

Restraining Order Violation – 9900 Block San Pablo Ave:
At 1809 hours, an officer arrested a 47 year old man from El Cerrito for violation of a court order for being within 100 yards of the protected party. He was transported to MDF.

False Personation, Warrant – Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 2107 hours, Officers responded to Safeway regarding a man with a gun. The subject left towards Del Norte BART prior to our arrival. A 38 year old transient male was located at the BART Station and positively identified as the subject from Safeway but he was not in possession of a firearm and no gun was located. The man provided his cousin’s name and DOB when contacted. The cousin was wanted on a Kern County misdemeanor warrant and the man was arrested on the confirmed warrant. The man’s true identity was determined during the booking process and determined to be wanted on a no bail warrant from San Francisco for failure to register as a sex offender. The man was transported to MDF.

DUI, Suspended License, Warrant – Central Ave / San Pablo Ave (Beat 10):

At 2324 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 38 year old male driver from Oakland for DUI (0.21% Drager). His license was also suspended for DUI and he was wanted on an Alameda County Warrant for DUI. He was cited and released.
Warrant – Potrero Ave / S. 47th Street

At 0134 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a 20 year old female passenger from Richmond on a Marin County warrant. She was cited and released.

November 21st

Vandalism – 5300 block Cypress Ave:
At 1856 hours, an officer arrested a 14 year old male from El Cerrito after he got into an argument with his parents and then broke the window of his father’s vehicle. He was released on a juvenile affidavit to his father.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered – Cypress Ave / S. 53rd St:
At 2047 hours, an officer located a 1997 white Ford Contour which was reported stolen to RPD on 11/21/15. It was released to the owner in the field.

Burglary – 6511 Portola Dr (Beat 11):
At 0334 hours, an unknown suspect forced entry into the victim’s storage closet and removed items from the storage locker. The suspect also removed tools from a nearby truck. The victim heard the commotion and came outside and confronted the suspect who fled on foot towards the BART Path. The suspect was described as a WMA, 35, 5-06, 150 pounds, black jacket and short hair.

November 22nd

Possession of a Controlled Substance – Peet’s parking lot, 9895 San Pablo Ave:
At 2003 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 43 year old male from Richmond for possession of .4 grams of methamphetamines. He was booked and cited.

Residential Burglary – 17oo block Wesley Ave:
Sometime between 11/18/15 at 1000 hours to 11/22/15 at 2030 hours, an unknown suspect entered the residence. Once inside, the suspect stole cash, a coin collection, personal identifying information, tools, and electronics.

Felony DUI, DUI Probation– 5200 Block Gordon Ave:
At 2244 hours, an officer on viewed a collision and arrested the 26 year old driver for DUI. The man had three prior DUI convictions within 10 years and was on DUI probation. He was transported to MDF.

DUI, DUI Probation – 7 Eleven, 7022 Stockton Ave:
At 2300 hours, concerned citizens called and reported an obviously intoxicated man arrived driving a Mazda and believed the driver was too inebriated to drive away. Officers arrived and arrested a 40 year old Berkeley man for DUI. The man was also on DUI probation. He was transported to MDF.

November 23rd

Stolen Vehicle Recovery – 1500 block Key Blvd:
At 0617 hours, Officers received a strong LoJack hit in the back lot of the ECPD and located the white 2001 Honda CVR a short time later. The vehicle was reported stolen to RPD on 11/23/14.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 1700 block of Manor Cir
An El Cerrito Police Department Community Service Officer located an unoccupied black 1997 Honda Civic which was reported stolen out of El Cerrito on 11-10-2015.

Reported Stolen Vehicle – 1800 Ganges Dr
Between November 22nd 1800 hours and November 23rd 1100 hours, an unknown suspect stole the victims white Honda CRV.
