The ECPD is in need of the public's help to locate a robbery suspect. 
The El Cerrito Police Department would like to thank the news media and the public for helping us identify the cellular phone robbery suspect as Tasja Dowell (18 years of age and possibly a resident of Richmond). Within several hours after the press release, the ECPD received numerous calls from the public providing us with Dowell’s identity and addresses she may be associated with.
The ECPD currently holds an arrest warrant for Dowell for the robbery and child abuse of the High School student on November 5th. ECPD investigators are now asking for the public’s assistance in locating Dowell.
We do not encourage anyone to confront Dowell. We ask that persons with information in regards to the whereabouts of Dowell call the ECPD Investigations Unit at 510-215-4418. Callers with information can remain anonymous.
