Message sent on behalf of Woodstock Police Department: Residential Burglary Investigation

On Wednesday, November 18th, 2015, at 09:23 a.m. Woodstock Police Department officers responded to the 400 block of Oakwood Ave. after a concerned citizen noticed suspicious activity at a neighbor’s residence.

Upon the officers’ arrival, they observed three male subjects, who were not the residence owners, in the process of burglarizing the home. The three unknown subjects fled the area on
foot. During a subsequent search of the area, two out of the three subjects were located and detained.

Due to the close proximity between the incident and a school, Community Unit School District 200 was apprised of the incident and they chose to go into a “soft-lockdown” purely as a
precaution.

The search for the third individual continues. He is described as a thin male/black, approximately 5’ 10” with “dreadlocks” wearing a hooded, patterned darker sweatshirt and light gray sweatpants.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to contact the Woodstock Police Department at 815-338-2131.
