Castaic and Val Verde, Zone 2, Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information for the week of 11/09/2015 to 11/22/2015.

The following crime were reported in Zone 2, Castaic/Val Verde.

An attempted residential burglary was reported from the 29000 block of Elk Avenue.  The homeowner returned home and saw a male suspect attempting to open a side window to the house.  The suspect realized he had been seen, and ran away.  The crime occurred on 11-10-15 at 4:20.PM.        

An arson was reported from the 30000 block of Sloan Canyon Road.  The fire department responded to the location regarding a small structure fire.  The brush surrounding the area had caught on fire as well.  Witnesses reported seeing four male suspects leaving the area.    

A theft was reported from the 31000 block of Castaic Road.  While getting gas, two victims were approached by a male who sold them silver coins.  After the suspect left, the victim’s realized the coins were fake.   

A theft was reported from the 29000 block of The Old Road.  A male suspect left the location with a shopping cart full of miscellaneous store products.  The suspect left without paying.  The store staff confronted the suspect in the parking lot, and he left in his vehicle. 

A vehicle reported stolen from Livingston Avenue was recovered by deputies in Lancaster.
