Press Release
On November 11, 2015, at approximately 3:30 pm, Corcoran Police Officers responded to a shooting in the 1300 block of North Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a residence had been shot approximately 8 times. Evidence recovered showed the weapon used was a .45 caliber. No one was at home during the shooting and there were no injuries.
Later in the evening, Corcoran Officers, along with the Kings County Gang Task Force, received a tip there was possibly going to be another shooting on Ventura Avenue. The tip also advised officers to watch for a white Mercedes. The Mercedes was being driven by known Norteno gang members who were armed with guns. Officers went to the area of Ventura Avenue and began looking for the Mercedes.
At approximately 8:00 pm, officers observed a Mercedes in the area and followed it. The Mercedes pulled into the driveway of a residence in the 900 block of Mariposa. Officers contacted three subjects inside the car. All three subjects were known Norteno gang members. During the contact, officers discovered three firearms which included an AR-15-Assault rifle with a 30 round magazine fully loaded, a fully loaded Kimber .45 caliber, and a .38 special. Officers also located three additional loaded 30 round magazines, marijuana, and several prescription pills without a prescription. The AR-15 and the Kimber were determined to be stolen from a Corcoran residential burglary which occurred in October of 2015.
The suspects in the vehicle were identified as Adam Rodriguez (Age 22), Alex Rodriguez (Age 21) and Paul Marin (Age 26) all of Corcoran.
All three suspects were arrested for several gun and drug charges. This investigation is still ongoing and the Corcoran Police Department urges anyone with information to please contact Corcoran Police Detective Harris at 559-992-5151 or the Kings County Gang Task Force confidential hot-line at 559-589-1960.
