Arming citizens with information is one of the best tools to combat crime. Providing information to the public and maintaining the integrity of investigations have always been challenging. Nonetheless, it is important to share what we can. A component of our Records Management and CAD software or "Citizen RIMS" as it is referred to allows us to share the majority of our activity while still maintaining the confidentiality with those cases that require it. This software gathers information from our CAD and RMS system and puts it into a report that is available to the public. It includes Calls for Service, Crime Reports, Officer Initiated Activity and more. It allows the user to do crime analysis with the click of a mouse and also shows activity in your neighborhood or parts of the community that may be important to you. By going to http://corpd.crimegraphics.com/2013/default.aspx and clicking on "Sign-up for Alerts" you can receive an email report every 24 hours or every week. You can also navigate through the site to check on current or past activity as well as Warrants, Most Wanted, Stolen Vehicles etc. We are very excited to be able to offer this technology and we are hopeful that it will give citizens information that ultimately makes them safer.
