November 6th
Arrest for Domestic Battery – 7500 block of Potrero Ave
Officers were dispatched to an address for a male and female arguing. The female was seen being pushed out of the front door. Officers arrived and contacted a 55 year old male from El Cerrito and his girlfriend. The male and his girlfriend got into a verbal altercation which turned physical. The male pulled his girlfriend across the bedroom floor by her shirt collar which caused a burn on the side of her neck. The male was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Warrant, Possession of a Controlled Substance – Key Blvd / Knott Ave:
At 2235 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 35 year old male Vallejo resident on a no cite Sonoma County warrant. A search incident to arrest yielded 2.5 grams of methamphetamines and a glass pipe. He was cited on the new charges and transported to the MDF on the warrant.
November 7th
Auto Burglary – 670 El Cerrito Plaza
An unknown suspect shattered the victim’s passenger window and stole a khaki bag containing a laptop. A witness saw a black female adult in her late 20’s who committed the theft flee in a 2012 Hyundai Elantra registered in Oakland.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle – Central Ave / Pierce St
An El Cerrito police officer located an unoccupied 1994 Acura Integra that had been reported stolen to San Pablo PD on November 6th, 2015.
Restraining Order Violation – 5500 block of Poinsett Ave
At 2203 hours, officers were dispatched to the area and arrested an 18 year old man from Richmond for violation of a domestic violence restraining order after he violated the order which prohibited him from being within 100 yards of his ex-girlfriend. He went to MDF.
DUI, Driving on Suspended License, False Impersonation – San Pablo Ave / Waldo Ave
At 0211 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 26 year old female driver and Richmond resident for DUI. She initially provided a false name true identity was determined as well as the fact she was driving on a suspended license. She was cited and released.
November 8th
Warrant Arrest – Cutting Blvd / San Pablo Ave
El Cerrito police officers were dispatched to the area for a man down. An El Cerrito police officer located a 60 year old male from Vallejo face down on the sidewalk. The male was disabled and stated that he had a cramp and wanted to lie down. A records check revealed that the male had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. The male was released on a citation at the scene.
Auto Burglary – (Safeway) 11450 San Pablo Ave
An unknown suspect defeated the electric keypad and entered the vehicle. Once inside, a briefcase and tools were stolen. The theft occurred between 1115 – 1130 hours.
Outside Agency Assistance – Liberty St / Key Blvd
BART PD advised that two suspects ran from them from the parking structure at the Del Norte BART station, and into a backyard in the 1800 block of Key Blvd. / Liberty St. El Cerrito police officers assisted with a perimeter in the area and assisted with a yard-to-yard search. Two juveniles were located hiding under the back deck of a residence on Key Blvd. They later told BART PD that they ran because they were going to smoke marijuana in the parking structure.
Stolen Vehicle Report – 5900 block of Jordan Ave
An unknown suspect stole the victim’s 2008 Chevy Tahoe sometime between 1900 hours on the 7th to 1330 hours today.
November 9th
Auto burglary – (Peet’s Coffee) 9895 San Pablo Ave
At approximately 0820 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the victim’s vehicle window and stole a laptop.
Shoplifting – 11450 San Pablo Ave
At 1130 hours, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 25-year-old Richmond man after he stole alcohol from the store.
Auto burglary – (Peet’s Coffee) 9895 San Pablo Ave
Between 1600 and 1610 hours, an unknown suspect smashed the victim’s vehicle window and stole a portable DVD player.
Auto v. Pedestrian Collision – Central Ave / Carlson Blvd
At 1846 hours, officers responded to an auto v. pedestrian collision. It was determined the pedestrian was crossing Central Ave northbound in the western sidewalk. The vehicle was travelling eastbound on Central Ave and preparing to turn southbound onto Carlson Blvd and collided with the pedestrian in the crosswalk. The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and declined transportation to the hospital.
Warrant – Eastshore Blvd / Potrero Ave
At 2321 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop and determined the 20 year old male passenger from Richmond was a parolee at large. He was arrested a transported to MDF.
Possess Controlled Substance, False Impersonation, Warrant – San Pablo Ave / Plumas Ave
At 0054 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 25 year old Richmond man for possession of methamphetamines. The man provided his brother’s name but his true identity was determined via fingerprints and he was found to have a $50,000 Marin County warrant. He went to MDF.
November 10th
Warrant Arrest-BART path @ Blake St
At approximately 1208 hours, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop on three subjects at the dog park. The officer conducted a records check on the subjects and discovered one of them had an outstanding warrant for theft. The 28 year old male from Pittsburg was taken into custody and transported to the El Cerrito PD for booking. After booking, the male was released on a citation.
Stolen Vehicle- Everett St @ Gladys Ave
An officer reported an unknown suspect stole the victim’s 1997 black 2-door Honda Civic. The theft occurred between 11/9/15@2300 and 11/10/15@1200 hours.
Grand Theft- 500 Block of Kearney St
An officer reported that an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and removed property. The theft occurred in between 1000-1430 hours.
November 11th
Auto Tampering - 900 Liberty Street
At 0433 hours, officers responded to a report of a vehicle tampering. The victim reported that a Hispanic male adult, 30 to 40 years old, wearing a brown sweater and khaki pants attempted to steal his truck but was scared off when the victim went outside. The suspect attempted to use a screwdriver to start the truck which was found on the floor below the ignition.
Auto Theft -723 Richmond Street
At 0512 hours, an officer responded to the report the victim’s blue Honda Odyssey mini-van being stolen between 2200 hours on 11/10 and 0500 hours on 11/11.
Warrant Arrest- 10200 Block of San Pablo Ave
At 1034 hours, officers were dispatched to a noise complaint. During the investigation, officers arrested a 30 year old male from El Cerrito for an outstanding theft warrant. The male was taken into custody and transported to the El Cerrito PD. After booking, the male was released on a citation.
Petty Theft- 9895 San Pablo Ave
At 1138 hours, an officer took a report of a subject who stole the tip jar from the business.
Petty Theft- BART path @ Blake St
At 1412 hours, an officer was patrolling in the area and noticed several suspicious subjects. The officer contacted the subjects. During the officer’s investigation, he discovered one of the male subjects was in possession of new clothing with the security sensors still attached to them. The officer contacted a nearby sporting goods store and confirmed the male had stole the clothes earlier in the day. An employee advised she wanted to pursue the theft criminally and placed the male under citizen’s arrest. The 47 year old male was taken into custody and transported to the El Cerrito PD for booking. After booking, the male was released on a citation.
Stolen Vehicle- 1700 block of Eastshore Blvd
An officer reported an unknown suspect stole the victim’s 1993 white 2-door Honda Civic. The theft occurred in between 0445 hours and 1500 hours.
Battery - 6009 Potrero Avenue
At 2323 hours, an officer responded to the report that a 30 year old Benicia woman got into an argument with a friend who had picked her up from the airport. The argument escalated when the woman bit her friend. The victim refused to prosecute and to complete the ride. The woman took a taxi back to Benicia.
November 12th
Shoplifter – Warrant Arrest – Safeway: 11450 San Pablo Ave
At 1748 hours an officer responded to the report of a shoplifter in custody. The shoplifter, a 44 year old Richmond man was placed under citizen’s arrest for stealing alcoholic beverages. He also had a Contra Costa County no-cite indecent exposure warrant for his arrest. He was booked and cited on the ECPD charges and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility on the warrant.
Warrant Arrest - 7022 Stockton Avenue
At 2339 hours, an officer spotted a 44 year old El Cerrito woman with a possession of controlled substance warrant for her arrest. The woman was arrested, issued a citation and released.
