The Florence Township Police Department has received several calls from residents regarding phone calls they have received from people claiming to be from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The individual on the phone requests the resident to confirm their address and the last four digits of their social security number. This is a SCAM! This is not the only version of the SCAM. Others request that you pay your IRS debt to the address and/or bank they provide you with or a a police officer will be at your door to take you into custody. Never provide anyone with your personal information unless you know who that person is.
