Press Release - Stolen Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property.

On Thursday, November 5, 2015, at approximately 7:00 AM, Corcoran Police Officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Olympic Avenue for a report of a stolen vehicle. The victim started his vehicle, a 2008 Ford Fusion, and went inside his residence leaving the car unlocked and running. When the victim returned to where his vehicle was, it had been taken.

On Saturday, November 7, 2015, at approximately 2:30 PM Officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired. The suspect vehicle was seen traveling in the alley behind the 1700 block of Orange Avenue. When Officers arrived, witnesses pointed out the direction of travel of the suspect vehicle.

Another witness called Corcoran Police Dispatch and reported the suspect abandoned the vehicle and provided a suspect description and a direction of travel. Officers arrived to the area and took the suspect into custody without incident. The suspect was identified as Jesse Gomez. Officers recovered the Gomez’s vehicle and determined it was the vehicle that had been reported stolen from the 2600 block of Olympic Avenue. Property from the vehicle was found on the suspect’s person. There was no evidence of shots being fired or weapons located.

Jesse Gomez, 18 was booked into the Kings County Jail on charges of Vehicle Theft and Possession of Stolen Property. His bail was $25,000.
