UPDATE

INDIANAPOLIS -On November 2, 2019 Aaron Carr 26, of Indianapolis, was released from Methodist Hospital after being shot on October 28, 2015 at the Washington Square Mall.  Aaron Carr was immediately taken into custody by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) and arrested for possession of a firearm without a license and for possession of stolen property as the gun, in his possession, was reported stolen from Vigo County last year.  This case will be reviewed by the Marion County Prosecutors Office (MCPO) for final charging decisions.

UPDATE

INDIANAPOLIS - Detectives investigating the shooting at the Washington Square Mall have identified the victims as 26-year-old Aaron Carr, 20-year-old Myliah Esco, 25-year-old Robert Kennedy, of Indianapolis.  Aaron Carr is still in the hospital and the other two victims have been released.

Investigators have released the following updated suspect information:

Suspect #1 described as a black male 19 to 20 years old approximately 6'6", thin build wearing a black hoodie, armed with a handgun.

Suspect #2 described as a black male, 19 to 20 years old, approximately 5'10", thin build, wearing black clothing.

Investigators are continuing to review evidence gathered at the scene.  Based on the information obtained at this time investigators still  believe this incident was a targeted act.

INDIANAPOLIS - Shooting at Washington Square Mall leaves three people injured with non-life threatening injuries. 

On October 28, 2015 at 6:29 p.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to the Washington Square Mall on the city's far-east side after receiving multiple 911 calls of shots fired. When officers arrived they located three victims inside the mall with apparent gunshot wounds. Those injuries are believed to be non-life threatening and the victims are in stable condition at this time.

Based on information gathered in the initial stages of this investigation, investigators believe an altercation took place between the suspected shooter and one of the male victims when shots were fired. Investigators believe one of the male victims was the intended target and the two remaining victims may have been innocent bystanders. This incident does not appear to be a random shooting. 

At this time, investigators continue to speak with the victims and the witnesses to learn more about the events leading up to the shooting.
