PRESS RELEASE: PSPD Looking for Information on Hate Crime Incident
On Sunday, November 1, 2015, at approximately 8:40 PM, PSPD was dispatched to a report of an injured male at the corner of South Calle Encilia and East Tahquitz Canyon Way. PSPD arrived on scene and found two male victims suffering from serious injuries. One male sustained a leg injury and the other male sustained a head injury. PSPD learned that the two victims were confronted and battered by two suspects at the location. PSPD believes both victims were battered because they were gay. The suspects fled from the area in a sedan type vehicle. PSPD is investigating this incident as a felony hate crime. Both victims were transported to a local hospital. One of the victims was treated and released and the other remains hospitalized in stable condition. The investigation into this incident is ongoing and further information will be released when it becomes available. PSPD is asking for the assistance of the public and media for leads in this investigation.
