WPD looking for sponsors for Student of the Month & United Way of Sullivan County fundraiser. See website for details

Banked up funding for the Police Department's Student of the Month Program has been expended, so we are looking for sponsors for the lunches for November-March. Each sponsor will get some really special thank you letters and pictures from the Students you sponsor, a nice letter from the police chief for your taxes and mention on the WPD Student of the Month web page. Sponsorships vary depending on where the Students choose to go, but are generally not more than $30. Sponsors can be individuals, families, work groups or organizations. Anyone interested in being a sponsor can contact Chief Marshall at [email protected].

Also, Chief Marshall will be participating with a majority of other law enforcement officers in Sullivan County in "No Shave November" as a fundraiser for the United Way of Sullivan County. In order to buy into the privilege of growing a beard each officer must raise a minimum of $100 for the United Way. Would you please help Chief Marshall earn the ability to give himself permission to grow a beard during November to help the United Way? How terrible would it be for him to to have to write himself up for growing a beard without permission? Please help him prevent the embarrassment.

If 20 sponsors are willing to donate $5 each to the United Way, the money will help a lot of people. Please help and drop off a check made out to the United Way of Sullivan County at the Police Station, or if no one is in the office it can be left with Debbie at the Selectmens' Office. Thank you for your support.
