Important Community Message

This evening, the township became aware of a series of paper flyers that have been delivered to homes in the community. The flyers are misleading advertising that try to convince residents to complete a form and pay a $20 fee to have their house number painted on the curb near the street. Some residents have assumed that this is something encouraged and authorized by the township. Whoever is advertising this service has not been in contact with the township and the township is not encouraging people to subscribe to this idea. Unfortunately, things like this are far too often a ploy to simply get money from people. The police department is working to make contact with the person(s) who listed their number on the flyer. The township wanted to be sure this information was sent out as soon as we became aware of it this evening. At this point, the person(s) are attempting to solicit money from residents for a service that has not even been authorized to be performed on township property.
If you have any questions you can call the administrative offices during the day at 499-2525. If you are contacted by the individuals who are trying to solicit money from you, please call the police department at 267-8300.
Please be sure to share this information with your family and friends.
