October 19th
Auto Burglary-5600 block of San Diego St.
An officer reported an unknown suspect shattered the small window of the driver’s side rear door to gain entry and removed property. The theft occurred between 10/18@1200 hours and 10/19@0744 hours.
Home Invasion Robbery-8300 Block of Kent Ct.
At 1006 hours, officers were dispatched to a residence for a report of a burglary in progress. The victim was upstairs in his bedroom when four suspects entered his house via an unlocked door. When the victim confronted the suspects, two of them brandished firearms. The suspects conducted a ransack of the house and stole property before fleeing in a vehicle.
Trespassing/Mental Health Evaluation-6500 block of Portola Dr.
At 1356 hours, officers were dispatched to a robbery in progress detail. The victim called and reported the suspect followed her into her apartment and he had a firearm. An officer arrived within minutes and detained a male matching the description of the suspect in the area. The officer recognized the 36 year old male El Cerrito resident from previous contacts. During the investigation, the officer discovered the male suffered from Bi-Polar disorder and had not been taking his medication. The male was transported to the Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center for psychiatric evaluation. This case was be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office and a warrant was obtained.
Shoplifter / Probation Violation - 11450 San Pablo Avenue – Safeway:
At 1945 hours, an officer responded to the report of a subject eating consumables without paying. The subject, a 30 year old transient was on probation with a specific clause to stay away from Safeway in El Cerrito. He was booked and transported to the Contra Costa OCunty Detention Facility in Martinez.
October 20th
Auto Burglary- 9895 San Pablo Ave. (Peet’s)
An officer reported an unknown suspect smashed the driver’s door window to gain entry and removed property. The theft occurred between 0630-0640 hours.
Warrant Arrest- Harper St. at Hagen Blvd.
At approximately 0931 hours, officers were dispatched to an occupied suspicious vehicle detail. Officers arrived on scene and contacted the two occupants. During a warrants check, the driver, a 25 year old female resident of San Pablo was arrested for an outstanding warrant. The female was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Grand Theft from Person-BART path at Fairmount Ave.
At approximately 1437 hours, officers responded to area for a report of a battery. During the investigation, officers discovered the victim was in the area taking photographs. The suspect was upset that the victim was taking photographs of him and confronted the victim. During the confrontation the suspect took the victim’s cellular phone from her hand. Several concerned citizens witnessed the incident and came to the aid of the victim. Officers took the 29 year old male transient into custody. The male was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Burglary – At&T 4010 EC Plaza:
At 1508 hours, an officer responded to the report of a theft. The suspect, a black male adult, 20’s blue jacket and blue pants cut two iPhones from the display and then fled on foot.
Missing Person (Located) 11382 San Pablo Avenue:
At 2154 hours, an officer contacted a 49 year old Richmond woman who had been reported as missing in July. She was in good health and had apparently been with her family since the report. She was removed from the national missing person data base.
Warrant Arrest - San Pablo Ave. / Moeser Lane:
At 2202 hours, an officer contacted a 39 year old Richmond woman during a pedestrian stop. She was wanted on a misdemeanor warrant. She was arrested, booked and issued a citation to appear in court.
DUI with Priors & Warrant Arrest: Carlson Blvd. / El Dorado St:
At 0202 hours, an officer conducted a traffic stop on an erratic driver on Carlson Blvd. The driver, a 35 year American Canyon resident was found to be intoxicated. He was wanted on a felony driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage warrant. He was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility.
October 21th
Stolen Vehicle/Warrant Arrest- S.52nd St and State Ave.
At 0931 hours, an officer conducted a vehicle stop on a vehicle occupy by two occupants. The officer conducted a records check of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen to the Richmond Police Department. During the investigation, the officer discovered the driver, a 25 year old male from Richmond also had an active warrant. During a search of the passenger, a 19 year old female from Richmond, an officer located a glass pipe. Both suspects were placed under arrest and transported to the El Cerrito Police Department for booking. After booking, the female was released on a citation and the male was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Possession of a Controlled Substance- BART path and Portola Dr.
At 1059 hours, an officer was patrolling the area when he noticed a suspicious person. The officer contacted the 33 year old male from Richmond. During the investigation, the officer searched the male and located a baggie of suspected methamphetamine and a glass pipe in his possession. The male was placed under arrest and transported to the El Cerrito Police Department for booking. After booking, the male was released on a citation.
Battery - BART Path / Eureka Avenue:
At 1939 hours, an officer responded to the report of a battery. The victim was riding his bicycle along the BART path when two subjects jumped out of the bushes. One of the subjects, a Hispanic male, 5’10” 180 lbs, wearing a white shirt punched the victim in the face. The victim continued to ride and both subjects fled.
Armed Robbery - 3200 blk of Santa Clara Ave:
At 2255 hours, officers responded to the report of an armed robbery. The victim was walking home from parking her car in the 5700 block of San Diego Street. She was confronted by three suspects. One of the suspects put a black handgun in her face and pulled a purse off her shoulder. They fled and got into an older green station wagon and fled. All three suspects were described as black male, early 20s, wearing dark clothing.
October 22nd
Stolen Vehicle- S.52nd and State Ave.
At 1006 hours, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle. The officer conducted a records check of the license plate and discovered the vehicle had been reported stolen to the San Francisco Police Department. The driver, a 38 year old transient male was taken into custody without incident. After booking, the male was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Warrant Arrest - 9800 San Pablo Avenue:
At 2252 hours, an officer contacted a 63 year old Oakland resident who was wanted on a misdemeanor No-Cite warrant. He was Officer Osorio arrested James Moore, (Oakland) on a misdemeanor No-Cite warrant. He was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
October 23rd
Stolen vehicle – 1400 block of Lawrence Ave.
Sometime between 10/22/15 at 2200 hours and 10/23/15 at 0630 hours, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s 2014 Ford Escape.
Vehicle tampering – 1300 block of Lawrence Ave.
Sometime between 10/22/15 at 2000 hours to 10/23/15 at 0939 hours, an unknown suspect shattered the victim’s vehicle window and rummaged the interior but did not take anything.
Warrant arrest – 6400 block of Portola Dr.
An officer arrested a 36-year-old El Cerrito man for an outstanding warrant related to a prior incident where he following a female into her residence on October 19th. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Auto burglary – 1100 block of Liberty St.
At 1030 hours, two suspects shattered the victim’s vehicle window and stole a purse. The suspects were described as two Hispanic male adults in their 20’s. They fled the scene in a red sedan.
Vehicle tampering, Possession of a controlled substance, Possession of paraphernalia – 10820 San Pablo Ave.
A 31-year-old Pittsburg man was arrested after he attempted to open the victim’s vehicle by using a shaved key and a shoestring to pull up the lock. During a search incident to arrest, officers found methamphetamine and a glass pipe.
Warrant arrest – Central Ave. / San Mateo Ave.
An officer arrested a 52-year-old transient woman for an outstanding warrant. The woman was transported directly to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Possess Controlled Substance, Paraphernalia – San Pablo Ave/Potola Dr
At 2150 hours, an officer arrested a 46 year old man from Albany for possession of methamphetamines and a pipe. He was cited and released.
ID Theft, Possess Drug Paraphernalia – San Pablo Ave/Eureka Ave
At 0136 hours, an officer Raine contacted a 40 year old Richmond lady during a pedestrian stop. She was in possession of a glass pipe as well as mail, checks and credit cards belonging to approximately 25 different people. She was arrested and then released on a citation Additional follow up with possible victims to follow for complaint to be filed with the District Attorney.
October 24th
Criminal threats – 2000 block of Tapscott Ave.
An officer arrested a 51-year-old El Cerrito man after he threatened to hurt his wife during an argument. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Brandishing a weapon – 5805 Cutting Blvd.
Officers responded to Skechers after a woman and her son entered the store with a bicycle. Store employees told the suspect that bicycles were not allowed the store and asked her to take it outside. The suspect instead produced a taser, sparked it twice, and told store employees that they had better watch how they talk to people. The suspect fled prior to police arrival.
Warrant arrest, Possession of a controlled substance – San Pablo Ave. / Moeser Ln.
An officer conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 45-year-old San Francisco man for an outstanding warrant. During a search incident to arrest, officers located methamphetamine. The man was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Warrant – S. 56th Ave/Potrero Ave
At 2019 hours, an officer Taylor conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a 62 year old female from San Pablo on a no bail Contra Costa warrant. She went to Martinez Detention Facility .
Warrant – San Pablo Ave/Panama Ave
At 2032 hours, officers responded to a disturbance involving a male and a female. The female, a 27 year old from San Francisco, was determined to have a small San Francisco County warrant and cited in the field.
