Central Station Deputies arrest a San Bernardino man for assault with a deadly weapon and a hate crime

INCIDENT: Terrorist Threats/Hate Crime/Assault with a Deadly Weapon

LOCATION: 6100 Block of Newcomb St. San Bernardino, Ca

SUSPECT(S): #1- Sean Roseman, 46yoa of San Bernardino, Ca

SUMMARY:

On Monday, October 27, 2015, at approximately 5:40am, Deputies from Sheriff’s Central Station responded to the 6100 Block of Newcomb St. for a disturbance call. While responding to the location, deputies were updated with information that one of the subjects involved had used a metal bar to break the windows out of the other subjects vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies located and contacted the subject, later identified as Sean Roseman, said to have used the metal bar and detained him. The other party, later identified as the victim, was waiting several houses away for the arrival of deputies.

During the investigation, deputies learned that the victim and suspect are neighbors and that for an unknown reason, the suspect began sending the victim racially explicit text messages and ultimately threatening to kill the victim due to his race. The victim is a Black Male while the suspect is a Caucasian Male. Upon the victim returning home, he was confronted by the suspect who appeared to have been waiting for the victim. When the suspect contacted the victim, verbal threats were made followed by the suspect using a metal bar to strike and damage the victim’s vehicle. Due to the circumstances involved and evidence discovered at the scene, Roseman was arrested without incident and transported to Central Detention Center where he was booked for violation of PC 422- Terrorist Threats combined with the special allegation of a Felony Hate Crime and Assault With a Deadly Weapon. No injuries were sustained by either of the involved parties.
