Halloween Safety Tips
KEEPING YOUR CHILD SAFE
The Corcoran Police Department encourages safety and supervision during the annual Trick-or-Treat season. It is especially important for parents to adhere to a few safety rules for their children when they are trick-or-treating.
* Plan a trick or treating route in a familiar neighborhood with well-lit streets.
* Make sure children know your cellphone number, their home telephone number, and address in case you get separated.
* Teach children to say "No!" in a loud voice if someone tries to get them to go somewhere, accept anything other than a a treat, or leave with them.
* Never send younger children out alone. Make sure older children take friends and stay together.
* Report any suspicious or criminal activity to the police.
We hope you have a safe Halloween and don't forget to trick or treat at the Police Department our lobby will be open for Trick or Treaters! Also, if you see a Corcoran Police Officer in a squad car, they will have treats to hand out as well!
