SUBJECT: Traffic Stop Results in Arrest for Felon in Possession of a Firearm/ ACPD Case # 15-1058

On October 17, 2015 at approximately 4:10 PM, an Angels Camp Police Officer conducted a traffic stop of a Toyota Tacoma for expired registration on South Main Street near Monte Verda Street.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 51 year old Merced resident, Denise Aanonson. Annonson was driving on a suspended license and gave officers consent to search her vehicle. Officers located 4.6 grams of methamphetamine and a .38 caliber revolver.
Aanonson was cited and released on the following charges:
11377(a) HS_ Possession of a Controlled Substance
14601.1(a) VC – Suspended Driver’s License
4000(a)(1) VC- Expired Registration
Aanonson was arrested and booked in to the Calaveras County Jail for the following charge:
29800(a)(1) PC – Felon in Possession of Firearm
