Pursuit Yields Drugs and Firearm – 100 Block E. Minnesota

On October 13, 2015, at approximately 11:40 A.M., an off-duty police officer from a local area police agency called into Turlock Police Dispatch. The officer knew Robert Hernandez, 31yrs of Turlock, was wanted for several current warrants as well as being a suspect in other crimes. The officer recognized Hernandez who was in and around a pickup that was stopped in a parking lot at Tuolumne Road and Geer Road. The officer also knew Hernandez has a history of resisting and fleeing from officers.

When officers attempted to stop him, Hernandez fled in the vehicle into surrounding neighborhood streets. He failed to stop at a four-way stop at Tuolumne Road and Dels Lane where he collided with another vehicle. The occupant of that vehicle was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Hernandez continued from that accident scene, still leading officers in pursuit. Speeds at that point were approximately thirty miles per hour, as it appeared his vehicle was partially disabled from the first accident. Hernandez drove several blocks to the 100 block of E. Minnesota where he lost control, drove over a curb, and crashed into a tree.

Hernandez and the female passenger, Jeveia Sarahfina Aguilar, 19yrs of Turlock, both ran from the vehicle but were both chased down by pursuing officers. A handgun, methamphetamine and other contraband was recovered from the suspects and the vehicle. Evidence seized was consistent with possession of narcotics for sales. Hernandez and Aguilar were both transported area hospitals for injuries sustained during the two collisions.

Hernandez was arrested for three warrants, as well as the new charges of felony hit and run, felon in possession of a firearm, resisting arrest, drug charges, and felony evading. Aguilar was arrested for possession of a firearm and drug related charges.
