Early Morning Traffic Stop Leads to Drug and Weapons Seizure:

On 10-12-15, at approximately 6:40 this morning, Ripon Police Department officers Erik Boger and Kristin Garcia conducted a traffic stop near Highway 99 and Jack Tone Road as part of the departments continued efforts to address dangerous traffic violations. The driver was identified and he was found to be a convicted felon.

During the stop, officers located a loaded revolver, a loaded modified shotgun, suspected methamphetamine and marijuana in the vehicle. The shotgun was reportedly stolen in Southern California.

Michael Randell Haney (52) of Modesto, was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on felony charges that included possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of a short-barreled weapon, being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a controlled substance, possession of concentrated cannabis and possession of stolen property.

Ripon detectives are working on several parallel Investigations as a result of this arrest and weapons seizure.
