Mary Elizabeth Cheateam, age 57 was booked into the Randall County jail for murder. Preliminary autopsy results confirm this is a homicide. The investigation continues and anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Special Crimes Unit at 378-9468.

At 1:20 PM, on October 9, 2015, officers were dispatched to the American Motor Inn at 4519 Canyon Drive on person who was deceased. Special Crimes was eventually called to investigate due to the suspicious nature of the death. The deceased was identified as Samuel Luke Cheatheam, age 65. The case has been classified as a homicide. Special Crimes continues its investigation and asks anyone with information about this case to call 378-9468.
