Update: Shattuck Avenue now open. Suspicious bag proved to be safe. 
Update: Officers from Berkeley PD's Bomb Unit checked the suspicious bag and determined that it was safe. Shattuck Avenue has now been re-opened.
The Berkeley Police Department is investigating a suspicious bag on the 2300 block of Shattuck Avenue. While this suspicious bag is being checked out, Shattuck Avenue will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic between Bancroft Way and Durant Avenue. We recommend using an alternate route until the matter has been resolved.
