September 29th

Vehicle Tampering- 6900 block of Gladys Ave
An officer reported an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and tampered with the contents of the vehicle. No property loss was reported. The incident occurred between 9/28@2100-9/29@0634 hours.

Auto Burglary- 9885 San Pablo Ave. Peet’s Coffee
A Community Service Officer reported an unknown suspect smashed the front passenger’s window of the victim’s vehicle and stole a laptop computer. The theft occurred between 0945-0950 hours.

Theft from Vehicle-7400 block of Potrero Ave.
A Community Service Officer reported an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and stole coins. The theft occurred between 9/28 @2030 hours and 9/29 @0700 hours.

September 30th

Theft from Auto - 900 Shevlin Dr:
At 0020 hours, officers were dispatched to the report of subjects looking into vehicles in the 800 block of Shevlin Drive. One of the subjects was described as a woman wearing a red dress. Officers located a 31 year old Vallejo man who matched the description on Stockton Avenue. He was found in possession of drug paraphernalia and a wallet stolen from a vehicle in the 900 block of Shevlin Drive. He was booked and transported to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez.

Warrant Arrest- 5200 block of Gordon Ave.
At 0859 hours, an officer was patrolling the area when he recognized a male that had an active warrant. The officer contacted the 28 year old male resident of El Cerrito and took him into custody. The male was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Petty Theft (Shoplifter)-Lucky 1000 El Cerrito Plaza
At 1712 hours, an officer responded to the business and accepted the Citizen’s Arrest of a thirty five year old female resident of Richmond. The female was detained by loss prevention agents after she exited the business with unpaid merchandise. The female was booked in the El Cerrito Police Department and released on a citation.

Robbery (Strong Armed) IFO 5615 Central Avenue:
At 2156 hours, a woman was accosted by two men who tried to steal her backpack. The backpack was ripped open and the woman was thrown to the ground. The suspects fled when a passerby stopped to assist. The suspects were described as Hispanic males, approximately 30 years old wearing dark clothing. One of them had a moustache.

October 1St

Warrant Arrest- IFO El Cerrito Plaza
At 0800 hours, an officer was patrolling in the area and conducted a pedestrian stop. During a records check, the officer discovered the 55 year old female of Richmond had an active warrant. The female was taken into custody and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Auto Theft – 1600 Lexington Avenue:
At 2023 hours, an officer responded to the report of a stolen silver 1999 Acura Integra. The theft occurred between 0430 hours on 09-30-2015 and 2000 hours.

October 2nd

Auto Burglary – 700 block of Kearney St.
An unknown suspect smashed the driver side window of the victim’s vehicle and stole ear buds. The burglary occurred between 0020 – 0756 hours

Theft – Safeway 11450 San Pablo Avenue
An unknown suspect stole the victim’s wallet while he was inside the store shopping. The theft occurred between 1900 – 2000 hours.

Theft – 6200 block of Cypress Ave.
An unknown suspect stole tools from the victim’s motorized cart sometime between 1315 – 1500 hours.

Possession for marijuana for sales- 10300 block of San Pablo Ave.
Officers contacted a 22 year old Richmond man during a traffic enforcement stop and located more than 3 ounces of marijuana. Also located was packaging material, a scale and other paraphernalia which was consistent with the sale of controlled substances. The man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

October 3rd

Possession of Stolen Property – San Pablo Ave/ Waldo Ave.
At 0112 hours, an ECPD officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and contacted a 22 year old transient man and discovered the man had 2 active warrants for his arrest. During his investigation, the officer located stolen property stemming from at least 6 different crimes, the majority of which had occurred in El Cerrito. The man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Burglary – 10680 San Pablo Ave.
At 0125 hours, two unknown suspects used an object to break the glass emergency exit door and gain entry into the business. The suspects removed approximately $600 in merchandise before fleeing.


October 4th

Strong Arm Robbery - Safeway 11450 San Pablo Ave
A security guard attempted to stop a male suspect from stealing packages of meat. When the security guard attempted to stop him, the suspect pushed the security guard and the suspect fled the store on foot. The suspect was described as a black male adult, approximately 40 years old, wearing a black baseball cap, a black jacket with a hood and grey pants.

Auto Tampering – 1600 block of Richmond St.
The victim reports that sometime between 0100 and 0600 hours, an unknown suspect entered his vehicle and damaged the ignition cylinder in a failed attempt to steal the vehicle.

Theft from Auto – 800 block of Everett St.
The victim reports that sometime between 2000 on 10-2-15 and 0445 hours on 10-3-15, an unknown suspect entered his unlocked vehicle and stole a portable GPS device.
