On October 15, 2015, at 10:15am, Wyoming will join millions of other participants around the world in an earthquake drill called The Great Wyoming ShakeOut (http://www.shakeout.org/wyoming).  Teton County Emergency Management and 335 other folks are currently registered to participate in Teton County, and we would like for you, your family, your business, and your school to participate as well!  You can let everyone know that you're getting ready for earthquakes by registering your group before October 15th here http://www.shakeout.org/wyoming/register/.

The drill itself is simple.  At the very least, we want folks at 10:15am on October 15th to practice Drop, Cover, and Hold On wherever they happen to be, at home, work, or school, for one minute.  During the drill, look around; see what objects could fall and think about ways to secure them before a quake happens.  While you are Covering under a desk or table, consider ways you could signal for help if you got trapped there.  After the drill, discuss with your family and co-workers what steps you can take to better prepare for an earthquake.  That's it!
