INDIANAPOLIS - Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Hit-and-Run Unit are investigating after a 15-year-old teenager is seriously injured by a hit-and-run driver.

Just after 9:00 p.m., officers with IMPD were sent to the 3500 blk. of Foltz St. reference a teenager struck by a hit-and-run vehicle.  Officers arrived and discovered a teenager suffering from injuries sustained by a pick-up truck driven by a hit-and-run driver.  The victim was immediately transported to Riley Hospital for Children by EMS personnel in critical condition.

Witnesses tell investigators that four teenagers were walking south in the northbound easement of Foltz St., when unexpectedly, a white ford pick-up truck traveling south veered directly at the teenagers and struck the victim.  The suspect vehicle continued south on Foltz St. never stopping to render aid.  Thankful the three other teenagers, who were walking with the victim in the easement, were not injured.  Investigators were later notified that officers had possibly located the suspect vehicle in the 4700 blk. of Melrose Ave; however after further investigation, it was determined this vehicle was not involved.
