Southern Monterey County Violence Suppression Collaboration arrests 3 in King City

SUSPECT(S): Everardo Granados Rivera, male 32, Pedro Zavala Jr , male, 30, & Jacqueline Arellano , female 22

On September 30, 2015, members of the Southern Monterey County Violence Suppression Collaboration, (comprised of law enforcement officers from the Monterey County Sheriff's Department, Monterey County District Attorney's Office, California State Highway Patrol, California State Parole and police departments from Gonzales, Soledad, Greenfield and King City) served a multi-location state search warrant in King City, CA. This search warrant was the culmination of a month long investigation. Law enforcement served the state search warrant at the two locations for gang indicia, illegally possessed controlled substances and firearms. Prior to police entry, one of the suspects flushed illegally possessed controlled substances in the toilet. This subject was found to be on state parole and had a felony warrant. Located during the search is an illegally possessed, semi-automatic handgun, countless rounds of different types of ammunition, brass knuckles, cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamine pipes, drug sales items, police scanners and stolen property. These items were all located and seized. The subjects are active Norteno criminal street gang members and were committing these crimes in furtherance of the street gang. The three were charged with various felony gun, ammunition, drug, stolen property and gang related charges.
