Community

Teton County Public Health is offering walk-in flu clinics Tuesdays and Thursdays thru mid-November. See email/link.

Flu season is here, and it can have far-reaching impacts on a community. A bad flu season can hit local businesses, critical infrastructure operators, and emergency services, thereby impacting the general public indirectly.  Those that are younger, older, or have pre-existing conditions are at higher risk of serious complications from the flu, and need to depend on "herd immunity" to help keep them from getting sick.  To learn more about this year's flu vaccine, visit http://www.cdc.gov/flu/protect/vaccine/index.htm.

You can do your part to help the community and yourself by getting your flu shot.  See the attached press release from Teton County Public Health for more information on this year's flu clinics.  You can also help to get prepared for flu season by making sure that your place of work has a continuity of operations plan to deal with emergencies like widespread illness, fire, earthquake, etc.  Learn more about emergency planning for businesses at http://www.ready.gov/business.  Thank you for taking the time to make Teton County a more disaster-resilient community!
