Press Release - 2015 Riverside Law Enforcement Explorer Competition, Riverside, California.

On September 18 -20, 2015, 7 members of the Corcoran Police Department Explorer Program attended the Law Enforcement Explorer Competition held in Riverside, California. The competition was attended by Explorer posts from 32 law enforcement agencies.

The competition allows the explorers to take part in different type of simulated scenarios and incidents that a police officer would encounter in the line of duty. The scenarios and incidents that the explorers competed in included active shooter, emergency (crisis) negotiations, crime scene investigation, felony traffic stop, building search, officer down, domestic violence along with team activity physical competitions such as obstacle courses and tug of war.

The CPD Explorers who attended received a 4th place trophy for the emergency (crisis) negotiations scenario. The explorers who attended competed very hard and represented the Corcoran Police Department in a professional manner.

The Explorers is a youth organization affiliated with the Boys Scouts of America that gives teenagers a chance to train with peace officers, learning the skills necessary to serve in law enforcement career.
