BANK ROBBERY UPDATE

On Thursday September 24th the National Penn Bank located at the intersection of Delaware Avenue and Route 130 was robbed by a suspect that was armed with a firearm who demanded money from the teller. After taking the money the suspect left the bank in a vehicle. Through an investigation involving the Florence Township Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the Gloucester County Bank Robbery Task Force the suspect was located in West Deptford, NJ. The suspect then barricaded himself inside his residence. After a brief standoff, the suspect surrendered to police without further incident and was then taken into custody. Upon further investigation the suspect was found to responsible for several bank robberies that occurred in Gloucester County. The suspect was additionally charged with those robberies. The suspect was later lodged in Salem County Jail in default of his bail.
